New Delhi: The Indian government has fallen on 40 websites running against the country.  The Union Home Ministry has decided to ban 40 websites with immediate effect.  To support separatist activities, 40 websites linked to the banned organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) have been banned.  The Ministry of Home Affairs gave this information on Sunday.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) is the nodal agency for cyberspace monitoring in India.  Last year, the Home Ministry banned SFJ for alleged anti-national activities.
   All these websites belong to the pro-Khalistan group
   The US-based Sikh for Justice (SFJ) is a pro-Khalistan group.  A spokesman for the Home Ministry said, “Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) is an illegal organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967”.  He launched a campaign to register supporters for his cause.  On the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) issued orders banning 40 websites of SFJs under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The SFJ emphasized the Sikh referendum as part of its separatist agenda.  Another official said that this organization openly supports the objective of Khalistan and in doing so, challenges India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
